The Carl Benz Academy (CBA) is a joint international education initiative that provides tailor-made corporate education programs for highly engaged managers in the automotive retail industry.

The Academy was launched in Beijing, China on November 14th, 2011. It was founded by Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales & Service Co. Ltd. and Mercedes-Benz Auto Finance Ltd., in cooperation with renowned universities from China, Germany and the United States and partners from the premium automotive industry in China.


The Carl Benz Academy aims to be the leading provider of internationally accredited education in the premium automotive market. Its Global Cloud University Concept aims to extend the blended learning approach in a way that reaches beyond the conventional anatomy of a standard business school program - offering an innovative; research-based; and business-relevant curriculum that is meaningful - and that supports students to accomplish levels of unique academic and vocational achievements that exceed even their own expectations.


The mission of the Carl Benz Academy is to provide high quality corporate education by fostering scientific research methods; applying blended learning approaches and delivering tailor-made content for specific corporate needs. The Academy is committed to academic excellence, business relevance and practise-oriented learning in an international context. Students can make use of the Academy's flexible, blended learning format to help them integrate their studies into their work and personal lives.

The Carl Benz Academy strives to accomplish this mission by:

  • Providing diverse and internationally-oriented teaching in an integrated program through cooperation with three renowned universities: Peking University – Guanghua School of Management (China), Berlin University for Professional Studies – DUW / Steinbeis University Berlin (Germany) and the Woodbury University (United States)
